Mount Olive (15-5 overall, 9-4 CVAC) scored the first six points of the game and built a 12-4 lead after Mike Holloman’s fast break slam dunk with 14:32 left in the first half. Coker (5-14, 2-11) got as close as four points after Ben Brim hit a three-pointer with 11:42 remaining, but Streeter and Coffield answered with back-to-back three-pointers to extend the Trojans’ lead to 24-14.
Coker trimmed the lead down to single digits, but Coffield hit three three-pointers in a span of less than 90 seconds during a 13-0 run and Mount Olive built the lead to as many as 24 points before going into the locker room with a 48-27 halftime advantage. Coffield had 16 points at the break.
Lukas Varga opened the second half with a three-pointer to pull the Cobras within 18 points and it was still an 18-point game with just over eight minutes left when Streeter keyed a Mount Olive run that put the game away. Streeter scored 10 points during a 14-2 run as the Trojans built the lead to 30 points at 85-55 with 3:22 remaining.
Coffield and Easley each finished 4-for-7 from three-point range and combined for 13-of-21 from the field overall. Elijah Rouse, who ranks 16th in the nation with a 61.2 field goal percentage, added 10 points on 4-for-6 shooting as the Trojans shot 56.1 percent (37-for-66) from the field as a team. Streeter pulled down eight rebounds, while Coffield added seven boards. Holloman dished out a career-high seven assists.
Brim led Coker with a game-high 22 points, while Varga added 13 points and Jason Fulwood finished with 12 points.
