Hartsville, SC- What started out as a slow moving, low scoring game, turned into a all out grudge match as Pfeiffer defeated Coker 73-60 in men’s collegiate basketball Saturday.

Neither team looked very prepared to play, with a combined 25 turnovers in the first half, and a combined shooting percentage of 34. However after one the Falcons were on top 25-16.

The second half brought a renewed life to the floor, as Coker battled their way back into the game, with the three-point shooting of Ryan Fulwood. Fulwood made five of his six total three-pointers in the second half and brought Coker to within striking distance. With only 4:30 left, Coker tied the game at 59 on a Darian Kearney field goal. However, a Jason Emerson three-pointer and two Matt Austin field goals would put the Falcons ahead for good.

Fulwood finished the night with 19 points, shooting 6-for-8 from beyond the arc, and freshman Taylor Hukill scored a season high 10 points for the Cobras.

The Falcons were led by DeMario Grier and Jason Emerson, each with 18 points, while Matt Austin chipped in with 13 points and 5 rebounds for Pfeiffer.

Coker will take on Anderson University on Monday in their final home game of the season, with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
