GAFFNEY, S.C.-- Limestone College beat Coker College, 74-51, in CVAC men’s basketball action at the Timken Center on Saturday night. Limestone is 11-12 overall (9-7 CVAC) and Coker is 5-17 (4-12 CVAC). 

Freshman Andre Coleman (Clermont, Fla.) led the Saints with 17 points,  junior Marquis Bell (Raleigh, N.C.) had 15, junior Terrell Smith (West Columbia, S.C.) added 13, and junior Shawn Poppie had 10. Poppie and Bell each had six rebounds.

Coker’s Abram Ludd led his team with 13 points, Michael Pierce had 12 and Mark Duncan scored 11. Ludd had a game-high nine rebounds.  

Limestone shot 75% in the first half (18/24) while holding Coker to 40% (12/30).  The Cobras had 15 rebounds to the Saints’ 10. Bell scored 12 of Limestone’s 41 points in the first period, going 5-for-6 in field goals.

The Saints had a 41-30 lead entering the second half and went on to score 33 more points in the second, going 9-of-19 (47.4%). Limestone held the visitors to only 21 points as the Cobras were only 8-of-28 (28.6%). Both teams had 31 rebounds for the game.
