Hartsville, SC- Coker outscored the Queens University Royals, 34-27 in the second half of Thursday nights CVAC match-up, but the Royals early lead was too much for the Cobras to overcome. Queens won the game 71-67 and swept the season series versus the Cobras 2-0.

After trailing by 11 at the half, Coker was able to battle back and use Queens’ weak shooting, the Royals only shot 33 percent from the floor in the second half, to cut the lead to six with 7:30 remaining in the game. Cobra freshman Ben Brim tied the game at 60 after a pair of threes, and the momentum looked to be shifting toward Coker. Unfortunately for the Cobras, they could not pull out the victory as Queens would use some timely free throws by Timon Farley to keep the Coker just out of reach of the win.

Coker falls to 5-14 overall, and 4-9 in the CVAC, while Queens moves to 13-6 on the season, and 7-5 in the CVAC.

The Cobra attack was led by Abram Ludd with 19 points and four rebounds, while Michael Pierce had 17 points, four rebounds and three steals. Also scoring in double figures for the Cobras were Johnny Jackson and Ben Brim, each adding 10 points to the Coker offense.

For the Royals, Farley finished with 23 points and three rebounds. Esau Eatman added 16 points and Chris Jones chipped in 14 points for Queens.

Coker travels to Charlotte, NC, for their next match-up versus Belmont Abbey on Saturday, February 4 at 4 p.m., while Queens while Queens hosts Limestone College also on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
