Hartsville, SC- With seconds remaining in the game, and Coker trailing Erskine 53-52, Coker’s Michael Pierce drove the lane and scored the game winning lay-up to put the Cobras ahead 54-53.

In that seemed to have Erskine as the victors all night, Coker made an astonishing come from behind victory. The Flying Fleet led by as much as 15 with only seven minutes remaining in the game and seemed to have the game in hand. Coker thought otherwise, freshman Ben Brim lead the charge in the second half scoring 10 of his 12 points, including a big three-pointer with 3:40 remaining, that put the Cobras only down by five. Along with Brim, another freshman would come up big for Coker; Blake Terrell sank a three-pointer with only 46 seconds remaining in the game and sank the foul shot that followed, to bring the game within one.

After a calling two timeouts and with just eight seconds remaining, Coker put the ball into the hands of senior Michael Pierce. Pierce would drive the lane and score a game winner with just 1.7 seconds left on the clock. Erskine called a timeout of their own and looked for one last play to win the game. The Fleet attempted a long inbound pass, but was unable to get it to a shooter and the clock ran out giving Coker its second CVAC victory and stopping a seven game losing streak.

Coker improves to 3-11 on the year, and 2-6 in the CVAC, while Erskine falls to 7-8 overall, and 4-4 in the CVAC.
