Coming off semester break both the men's and women's basketball teams defeated Coker College in CVAC action.

Pfeiffer's men played without starting center Matt Austin (dislocated finger) and Rusty Kiddoo (ankle).  However, it didn't slow the Falcons down.  Pfeiffer jumped to a 8-0 lead after three minutes and never looked back for a 77-51 victory.  Coker kept it close in the first half as Pfeiffer only shot 28% (8-26) from the floor.  Pfeiffer's pressure defense forced 18 Coker turnovers to help the Falcons to a 35-28 half-time lead.

Tavares Cooper led the Falcons in the second half with his strong inside play. He had 12 second half points on 5-5 shooting and 2 free throws.  12 different Falcons scored and the defense really stepped it up in the second half.  Coker ended the game with 34 turnovers.  DeMario Grier led Pfeiffer with 15 points.  Cooper added 14 and Jason Emerson got 13. Pfeiffer outrebounded Coker in the game 38-33.

Leading the Cobras were a pair of seniors, Johnny Jackson and Michael Pierce. Jackson finished with 19 points in the game, while Pierce finished with 15 points.

The Coker men return home on Monday to face Belmont Abbey College at 7:30 p.m.
