Hartsville, SC- In their second, and final, meeting this season the Hornets of Morris College evened the series at one a piece with a 86-71 victory over Coker College on Thursday night in college basketball. Coker drops to 2-5 on the year, while Morris improves to 2-6.

 

Senior guard Johnny Jackson/Hartsville, SC, was the points leader for the Cobras, as he put up 17 points and four assists. Also scoring in double figures were a pair of freshmen, Blake Terrell/Marietta, GA, and Ben Brimm/Canton, GA. Terrell finished with 15 points, while Brimm added 11 more for the Cobras.

 

Morris had a pair of twenty point scorers with, Joseph Howard scoring 27 and Kenneth NeSmith adding 20 points of the Hornets. Carlos Gore was Morris’ other scoring leader with 16 points in the game.

 

Coker will take a break for the Christmas Holiday and return to action on Thursday, January 5, 2006. The Cobras will host CVAC opponent Barton College at 7:30 p.m. in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.
