Hartsville, SC- The Coker Men’s Basketball Team fought hard, but came up short as they lost 61-55 to the Limestone Saints Tuesday night in collegiate basketball. In a back and forth game that saw both Coker and Limestone commit 12 turnovers, while the Cobras committed 17 fouls to the Saints 16, Coker dropped to 1-3 overall, and 0-1 in the CVAC, and Limestone improved to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the CVAC.

 

Senior guard Johnny Jackson had his fourth consecutive 20 point game, as he netted 25 points and was 5 for 11 from three point range for the Cobras. Fellow senior Darrian Kearney added six points and four rebounds, while junior Abram Ludd chipped in nine points and three boards.

 

Sumner Benton and Marquintus Jones each scored double figures for the Saints, with Benton getting 20 points and Jones recording 10 points in the victory. Marquis Bell added nine points and eight rebounds to Limestone’s winning efforts.

 

Coker gets not time to rest as they take to the road to face Coastal Carolina University tomorrow night at 7 p.m. Limestone gets a few days off before they host the CVAC preseason number one pick Mount Olive on Saturday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m.
