Coker Esports Defeats Kent State Columbiana County in Tespa Open Division

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker University Esports Hearthstone team took on Kent State Columbiana County in their final match of the first split of Tespa's Open Division on Monday (Oct. 19).

Coker brought their Face Hunter, Soul Demon Hunter, and Stealth Rogue. Kent State brought Stealth Rogue, Soul Demon Hunter, and Highlander Hunter. The first match was the two Hunter decks against each other. Coker started off strong, and was able to put Kent State to zero on turn six to win the first matchup. The second game was Coker's Stealth Rogue versus Kent State's Highlander Hunter. The game went back and forth, but Kent State's team had the better late game and was able to win by getting King Krush down on turn seven. The third game was a Stealth Rogue mirror match, and both teams traded damage back and forth. Kent State was able to find Lethal win to go up 2-1. The fourth match was Coker's Sealth Rogue versus Kent State's Soul Demon Hunter. Kent State was unable to deal with the Stealth minions, and Coker was able to find lethal to force a fifth and final game. The final game was a Soul Demon Hunter mirror. The game was extremely close, on turn 10 Coker had five HP, and Kent State had seven. Coker was able to find lethal on this turn to win the match 3-2. Coker ends the first split 4-4 and will start split two on Thursday (Oct. 22).  

The Cobras will be back in action on Tuesday (Oct. 20) when they compete in the Hearthstone Varsity Division at 7:00 P.M.
