Esports sweeps Saturday's Peach Belt Overwatch Matches Against Georgia College and Hawaii Pacific

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University Esports team completed a Peach Belt Fall Overwatch sweep on Saturday (Oct. 17) with a pair of victories over Georgia College and Hawaii Pacific.

Today Coker faced off against Georgia College in the Peach Belt Overwatch Season. First map was Busan and Coker started off strong with an advantage of 100% to 0 in the first round. In the second round, Georgia College was able to stop Coker from having a perfect map by taking control of the point, but Coker was able to take it back and win the first map. The second map was Route 66 and Coker didn't waste any time as they pushed through all three points. The Cobras almost stopped GC short of the first point but they were able to push through. Coker was then able to stop them on route to the second point to win the map and the match 2-0.

Coker played against Hawaii Pacific in the second Peach Belt Fall Overwatch match of the day. Hawaii Pacific was up first to attack and Coker was almost able to full hold them at the first point. However, in the last 10 seconds, Hawaii was able to capture the first point. Coker held Hawaii on the bridge short of second point but Hawaii found a way to sneak past them and capture the point. Hawaii was then stopped just past the second point and it was up to Coker to match them. Coker played quick and pushed through the map without stopping to win the first map. The next map was Ilios and Coker kept their momentum going and took control of the first point. Coker held it until 82%, when Hawaii took control. Coker then took it back once Hawaii had 97% and held on to win round one. Round two started a minute long fight that gave Coker control of the point. The point was then passed back and forth but Coker was able to win the round 100-99 given them the 2-0 match win.

The Cobras will be back in action on Monday (Oct. 19) as they continue Hearthstone Open Division play. The action begins at 7:00 with video available at www.cokercobras.com
