Esports Falls Short to Blinn College in NACE Fall Championship Overwatch

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker University Esports team faced off against Blinn College on Monday (Oct. 5) in the third week of NACE Fall Championship Overwatch. Both teams had entered the match with a 2-0 record.

The first map was Ilios, and Blinn started the first round by quickly taking the point. Blinn had held it until 99 percent when Coker won a team fight to take control. Coker was able to hold it until 68 percent, but Blinn was able to take back control to win the round. During the second round the point was passed back and forth, but Blinn was able to win even though Coker had 99 percent to win the map. The second map was Junkertown, and Blinn was able to push all the way through with over three-minutes remaining on their bank. Coker was unable to get past the first checkpoint, and Blinn won the second map 2-0. The third map was King's Row, and Blinn kept their momentum going by pushing through with five-minutes left on the clock. Coker didn't give up without a fight and quickly got the payload unlocked, but they were stopped just short of the second checkpoint, and Blinn was able to win the match 3-0.

The Cobras will be back in action Tuesday (Oct. 6) at 7:00 P.M. when they take on Southern California in Varsity Division Hearthstone. Video for the match will be available at www.cokercobras.com
