Esports Falls Short to Niagara University in Tespa Open Division, Beats Brewton-Parker in NACE Overwatch Fall Cup

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker University Esports team faced off against Niagara University in the Tespa Open Division in the first match of the night. In the second match the Cobras faced off against Brewton-Parker in the NACE Overwatch Division Fall Cup.

Coker brought Face Hunter, Gibberling Druid, and Agro Demon Hunter. Niagara brought Galakrond Priest, Face Hunter, and Secret Rogue. The first game was Coker's Gibberling Druid vs Niagara's Galakrond Priest. Coker was unable to get enough minions on the board to contest the Priest and Niagara was able to win the first game. The second game was Coker's Gibberling Druid vs Niagara's Face Hunter. Both teams traded blows until both of their health was below ten. Niagara was able to find lethal before Coker to win the second game. The third game was Coker's Agrp Demon Hunter vs Niagara's Secret Rogue. Coker's tempo was going strong until turn six when Niagara was able to play an 8/8 Edwin Vancleef. Coker was unable to deal with the big minion giving the match to Niagara. 

Later on, Coker University Overwatch team played against Brewton-Parker in the NACE Overwatch Fall Cup. The first map was Oais, and started off round 1 strong with a 100% to 0% victory. The second round was back and forth, but Coker was able to take the win 100% to 89% to win the first map. The second map was Junkertown and Brewton-Parker started with a pirate ship strategy. Coker was able to hold off until Overtime hit but Brewton-Parker was able to push through the first two points before being stopped. Coker was then able to match Brewton-Parker with 3:45 left on the clock to win map two. Map three was King's Row and Brewton-Parker was able to unlock the payload but we stopped just short of the second point. Coker was then able to unlock the payload, but initially had a tough time to push the payload. Eventually they were able to get the payload moving and pushed past Brewton-Parker's spot with 2:45 remaining.
