In Jergens's first season, Coker won 22 games and clinched a berth in the South Atlantic Conference tournament. The offense hit to a .271 batting average under his tutelage.

In his first season, Jergens worked primarily with the hitters and fielders. He helped guide Coker to 28-20 overall record, a 12-12 South Atlantic Conference record and their first appearance in the South Atlantic Conference tournament. At the plate, the Navy and Gold hit .319, which was tops in the SAC. Catcher Jack Leech and Will Winslow were named to the All-SAC team, while Clint Allen earned a Gold Glove. Winslow was also named to the all-region team. 

Cameron Jergens joined the Coker staff in September 2015.

Jergens came to Coker after serving as the head coach in the Lewis and Clark Baseball League in the summer of 2015. He also was an assistant baseball coach at Daytona State College during the 2014-15 season.

A native of Sturgis, Mich., Jergens earned his Associate’s of Arts degree in Business Administration at Daytona State College and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies at North Carolina A&T State University. 

He was a two-time member of the Mid-Florida Conference All-Academic Team while at Daytona State College and was a member of the Dean’s List while at North Carolina A&T.
