GAME 1

HARTSVILLE, SC- In a matchup between Catawba and Coker on April 20, 2024, Catawba came out on top with a final score of 7-3. Catawba's L. Catawba defeated Coker with a final score of 9-2 on April 20, 2024. Catawba's offense was firing on all cylinders, scoring early and often to secure the victory.

The game started strong for Catawba, as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. They continued to add to their lead, scoring four more runs in the second inning, highlighted by a three-run homer from D. Driver. S. Hunter also contributed with a solo home run in the second inning.

Coker managed to score a run in the third inning, but it was not enough to overcome Catawba's lead. Despite adding another run in the seventh inning, Coker was unable to mount a comeback. Ethan Payment scored the last run for the Cobras after reaching earlier on a walk. 

On the pitching side, Catawba's C. Hales, C. Gouge, and H. Simmerson combined for a strong performance, limiting Coker to just two runs on seven hits. Hales picked up the win, while Simmerson recorded the save. 

Overall, Catawba's solid hitting and pitching performance led them to a decisive victory over Coker.
