Game 2

Hartsville, SC- Coker University's baseball team kicked off their doubleheader in impressive fashion with a dominant 10-2 victory over Anderson University in a game on February 25, 2024. The Coker Cobras displayed their offensive prowess by scoring runs in multiple innings and racking up a total of 15 hits in the game. 

The Cobras got on the board early with a three-run second inning, highlighted by a two-RBI single from J. Yarberry. They continued to add to their lead, scoring runs in the third, fourth, fifth, and seventh innings to secure a commanding lead over Anderson.

Coker's offensive standouts included Cameron Ferrell, who went 3-for-5 at the plate and scored three runs, and Jaylen Mack, who had a big game with four RBIs including a two-RBI double in the eighth inning.

Coker's Cody Chapman picked up the win on the pitching side, going five innings and allowing just one run on three hits. Tyler Satterley came in for relief and closed out the game with four solid innings, allowing just one more run.

Overall, Coker University's baseball team showcased a strong performance both at the plate and on the mound in their season opener, setting a positive tone for the rest of their season. Their decisive victory over Anderson University is a promising start to what looks to be a successful season ahead as they went on to take the series with a win in game 2.

Game 3

In a baseball game between Anderson (S.C.) and Coker on February 25, 2024, Anderson emerged victorious with a 6-0 win. Anderson's offense was able to score every other inning, as they scored runs in the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th innings. 

Anderson's L. Poole stood out, going 3 for 3 with 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. M. Ketchin also contributed with 2 hits and 2 RBIs. On the pitching side, B. Smith had a strong outing, pitching 6 innings, allowing only 2 hits, and striking out 6 batters.

Coker's pitching staff had a tough time containing Anderson's offense, with Cooper Thomas giving up 4 runs in 2.2 innings of work. Jacob Hardy gave up 2 runs in 4.1 innings.

Overall, it was a dominant performance by Anderson, both offensively and defensively, as they shut out Coker and secured a convincing win. Cobras now move to a 9-5 record and a 5-1 conference record.
