Baseball Drops Series against Catawba

Salisbury, N.C. - Coker University baseball dropped its conference doubleheader on the road against Catawba College by finals of 2-1 and 12-2 on Saturday (Mar. 6). 

 

Game One: 

 

Coker would score its lone run of the game early in the first off of Drew Klaserner's RBI double to right, scoring Reilly Hall who had reach earlier on his double to left-center

 

Neither team would score again until the bottom of the sixth when Catawba would plate the game-winning two runs.

 

Five different Cobras recorded hits in the game. Brendan Mullins was the pitcher of record for the Cobras, allowing two runs on three hits over 5.1 innings of work. He also walked and struck out four each. 

 

 

Game Two:

 

Catawba jumped out ahead in the first by scoring off of a solo home run. 

 

Coker would come back in the top of the fifth, plating two runs to take a 2-1 lead. Cory Listing singled to left to score Bryan Castillo before Kody Hanna doubled to right-center to score Listing.

 

Catawba's offense would regain the lead when they would plate three runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it 4-2. Their offense would surge in the sixth and seventh, plating eight runs off of nine hits to make the finals score 12-2
