Cobras Drop Series Opener at No. 24 Catawba

SALISBURY, N.C.- Coker baseball dropped its South Atlantic Conference series opener at No. 24 Catawba 12-1 on Friday (Mar. 10).

The Indians scored once in the first and twice in the second before erupting for seven runs in the third to take control of the game. Coker scored its lone run in the seventh on an RBI single from Jon Koski.

Darius Coldiron tallied three hits, while Robert Lybrand, Koski, Tanner Crosby and Clint Allen each chipped in one. Will Sutton (3-2) took the loss for the Cobras. Brady Shuey and Jackson Back made relief appearances for the Navy and Gold, with Back firing three scoreless innings allowing one hit and one walk.

The Cobras (12-7, 4-3 SAC) come back on Saturday (Mar. 11) for a twinbill with the Indians beginning with a nine-inning game starting at 1:00 p.m. and a seven-inning game slated for 4:00 p.m.
