HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker baseball will host Newberry for a three-game South Atlantic Conference series this weekend (April 22-23) to wrap up its regular season.
Coker (27-17, 11-10 SAC) picked up an 11-9 win over visiting UNC Pembroke on Tuesday (April 19). AJ Strnad and Will Winslow each tallied four hits in the win, along with Jack Leech's 3-4 day with four RBI's. Darius Coldiron collected two hits, while Colton Henthorne, Thomas Lopez and Miguel Frias each chipped in one. JT Whritner earned his first win of the year in the contest.
On the season, Will Winslow leads the Cobras offensively hitting .396, good for fourth-best in the conference. Miguel Frias is tied for seventh in the conference with 48 RBI's. On the mound, Friday starter Dallas Baldwin is third in the SAC with a 2.63 earned run average.
The Wolves come into the contest 29-16-1 overall and 11-10 in the SAC. Trejon Smith leads the pack offensively hitting .368, good for 12th in the conference.
Saturday will be Senior Day at Tom J. New Field, with Coker honoring seniors Anthony Scaccia, Michael Orlowski, Dallas Baldwin, Will Winslow, Jack Leech, Clint Allen and Miguel Frias prior to the game.
First pitch on Friday is set for 3:00 p.m. at Tom J. New Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
