Cobras Host Bluefield State in Non-conference Matinee

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker baseball (16-9, 4-2 SAC) will host Bluefield State on Tuesday (Mar. 15) in non-conference action. Video and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The two teams met in Bluefield back on Mar. 10 with the Cobras coming away with the 9-7 win. The Cobras trailed 4-0 after two innings but responded by scoring in each of the next five innings to complete the comeback. Three Cobras recorded multiple hits in the contest highlighted by AJ Strnad's 4-5 day with a triple, an RBI and a run scored. Will Winslow homered and doubled in a 2-5 day with two RBI and two runs scored, while Ryan Wayne went 3-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Ben Brown (2-0) picked up the win in the contest, firing seven innings allowing seven earned runs on nine hits. The right-hander also walked two and struck out four. Jake Moore picked up the two-inning save, his first of the year, striking out three in a hitless relief appearance.

The Blues are 2-13 on the season, led offensively by Tyler Frazier who is hitting .400 on the year.

First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. at Tom J. New Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
