HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College's Miguel Frias was tabbed as the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 8-14, the League announced today.
A senior outfielder from Longwood, Fla., Frias batted .545 with six hits, 12 RBI and a 1.273 slugging percentage to lead the Cobras to a 4-0 record last week. Against Paine on Feb. 9, Frias notched a double, a home run and four RBI in a 22-6 win. He followed that effort with a homer and four RBI in Coker's 15-2 win over St. Augustine's on Feb. 10. He finished his week with a double and three RBI in a win over Saint Rose on Feb. 13. He posted a hit and an RBI in all four games he played in to notch an on-base percentage of .722. Frias also chipped in seven runs-scored.
For the season, Frias is batting .382 with three homers, four doubles, a triple, 16 RBI and 14 runs scored. He currently leads the SAC in home runs and runs batted in.
