Cobras Host Golden Knights in Saturday Doubleheader

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker baseball gears up for another non-conference baseball doubleheader when they host Saint Rose on Saturday (Feb. 13). Live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The navy and gold is riding a three-game win streak after its defeat of St. Augustine's on Wednesday (Feb. 10) 15-2. An eight-run third inning, two-run fourth and a three-run fifth helped Coker pull away, as four Cobras notched multi-hit games. Miguel Frias knocked his third homer of the year in the third inning, and also notched four RBI on the day. Darius Coldiron posted a 4-5 day with three doubles, two RBI and two runs scored, while Ryan Wayne went 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored.  Coker used seven different pitchers in the contest, with Kenny Barry (1-0) picking up the win.

The Golden Knights will be opening their 2016 campaign on this trip to Hartsville, coming off a 2015 season in which they went 12-23 and 7-13 in the Northeast 10 Conference.

First pitch is set for 11:00 a.m. at Tom J. New Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students. The single game originally scheduled for Sunday (Feb. 14) has been cancelled due to winter weather.
