Giczkowski Earns ABCA Gold Glove Award

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College baseball player T.J. Giczkowski has been named to the 2013 American Baseball Coaches Association Golden Glove team. Giczkowski was a first-team selection for the Southeast region as a third baseman.

Giczkowski, a junior, transferred to Coker from Niagara County Community College in New York this season. He's started all 52 games for the Cobras and has a .958 fielding percentage manning the hot corner. He has 124 assists, 34 putouts and been part of 12 double plays.

On offense, Giczkowski has a .364 average with four triples, 13 doubles, 29 RBIs, a team-high 53 runs scored and five steals.

Giczkowski is a criminology major at Coker. He is the son of Tom and Karen Giczkowski.

The Cobras (38-14) recently defeated Georgia College to win the NCAA Southeast regional tournament. Coker punched its first-ever ticket into the NCAA Division II Baseball National Finals. Their first game is against the University of Tampa at 1 p.m. Sunday in Cary, N.C.
