Cobras Conquer the Knights 12-2

LAURINBURG, N.C.- The Coker Cobras closed out the non-conference portion of their schedule on Tuesday (Apr. 16) with a decisive 12-2 win over the St. Andrews University Knights in college baseball action. With the win Coker's record improves to 28-12 overall.

T.J. Giczkowski was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored to pace the Cobras, while Zach Loraine and Ernie Kirkwood had two hits each with an RBI.  Frank Suarez belted a grand slam home run, earning four RBIs and Fico Kondla drove in three runs with a double.

The Cobra pitching staff was nearly untouchable, allowing just two unearned runs on three hits with six combined strikeouts between six hurlers. Alex Hernandez (4-2) earned the win. He threw three scoreless and hitless innings with a strikeout.

Coker returns to action on Friday (Apr. 19) and Saturday (Apr. 20) for a three-game Conference Carolinas series at Erskine College. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m. and Saturday's double-header will begin at noon.
