Coker and King Split Conference Double Dip

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Coker Cobras split their Conference Carolinas baseball double-header with King University on Saturday, winning game one 10-2, and losing game two 6-5. The Cobras move to 13-7 overall and 5-3 in league play.


Tyler Witzel (4-2) earned the win in game one, going 6.2 innings allowing just two runs on five hits with five strikeouts. 


Dan Meyer (1-2) suffered the loss in game two. He allowed five runs, two of which were earned, on three hits with six strikeouts in four innings on the mound.


Zach Loraine was Coker's leader at the plate, collecting four hits and five RBIs with a home run over the two games. Keith Wolf had five hits with an RBI and three runs scored, while Fico Kondla had three hits, including two doubles and three RBIs. T.J. Giczkowski also had four hits with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored. 


The Cobras will complete their three-game series with King on Sunday with a single nine inning game beginning at noon.
