Mount Olive Takes Two from Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker baseball team dropped a pair of Conference Carolinas games on Saturday to Mount Olive, 3-1 and 17-3. The losses gave the Trojans the 3-0 sweep in the weekend series.

Fico Kondla (Miami, Fla.) was the Cobras leading hitter for the day. He was 3-for-5 with an RBI, while Brinley Griffin (Port St. John, Fla.) had a double, an RBI and a run scored. Jake Frazier (Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.) belted a solo homer in game two and Nathan Wilson (Milliken, Colo.) had a double and triple with a run scored.

Dan Meyer (Seaford, N.Y.) (3-3) tossed his fifth complete game of the season in the game one loss. He scattered four hits allowing three runs, all unearned, with five strikeouts in seven innings on the hill.

Tyler Witzel (Melbourne, Fla.) (1-4) took the loss in game two. He gave up six runs on seven hits in three innings of work.

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to UNC Pembroke. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.

McDonald's Player of the Game- Dan Meyer

Meyer threw his fifth complete game of the season and allowed just four hits with five strikeouts.

The McDonald's Player of the Game is presented by the Hartsville McDonald's and is given to the most outstanding performer during each Coker College home athletic event.
