Cobras Blow Past the Tornado 10-3

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Six Cobra hitters drove in at least one run as the Coker baseball team cruised to a 10-3 win over King College in Conference Carolinas action on Sunday. The win improves Coker to 11-8 overall and 4-3 in league play, extending their winning streak to six games.

Coker scored a combined six runs in the second and third innings, before tacking two more in both the fifth and seventh innings. King's only runs of the game came in the fourth inning.

Accompanying the Cobras hot bats was another outstanding pitching performance by the reigning NCAA Division II National Pitcher of the Week, Andrew Goot (Oldsmar, Fla.). Goot (4-2) earned his third consecutive victory, allowing three runs on eight hits with three strikeouts in seven innings on the hill.

Leading the Cobras at the plate were senior outfielders Jake Frazier (Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.) and Rob Quattrock (Holtsville, N.Y.). Frazier drove in three runs, while Quattrock brought home two. Nathan Wilson (Milliken, Colo.), Keith Wolf (O'Fallon, Ill.), Lucas Britt (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) and Taylor Martin (San Jose, Calf.) each had an RBI in the game and Fico Kondla (Miami, Fla.) had three hits.
