ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Cobras held on for a 5-4 non-conference victory over Claflin University on Tuesday night in collegiate baseball action. With the win the Cobras sweep their season series with the Panthers, as they won game one 14-10 back on Feb. 15.

Jonathan Gainey (Hartsville, S.C.) (4-4) got the win going five innings, allowing three runs on five hits with a pair of K’s. Andrew Goot (Oldsmar, Fla.)(1) recorded the save as he threw a scoreless ninth for the Cobras with a strikeout.

Tyler WItzel (Melbourne, Fla.) was Coker’s leading hitter. He went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. Daniel Hiatt (Elwood, Ind.) also had two hits for the Cobras with an RBI and Jason Broussard (Melbourne, Fla.) drove in a run.

Coker will have a week off before their last game of the season on Wednesday, April 20 at Francis Marion University at 6:00 p.m.
