HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras were on the wrong end of a pair of shut outs on Saturday as they dropped the first game of their doubleheader against Mount Olive 4-0 and then lost game two 2-0 in Conference  Carolinas baseball action on Saturday afternoon.

GAME ONE

In game one the Trojan’s Carter Capps (5-0) was the star player as he tossed a complete game no-hitter against the Cobras. Capps went nine full innings allowing no runs and no hits with three walks and nine strikeouts.

Helping Capps along the way were the Trojan hitters as they plated four runs on 10 hits against the Cobra pitchers. Sean Tracy (Farmingville, N.Y.) (1-4) took the loss for Coker. He allowed four runs on seven hits in seven innings with six walks and four strikeouts.

Ryan Faison led the offensive attack for Mount Olive with four hits including a triple and two runs scored. Daniel Coffey also had a pair of hits with a double and an RBI and Jacob Rogers drove in two runs.

GAME TWO

The second game was a much more balanced game with both teams earning six hits, but it was Mount Olive that was able to come away with the victory thanks to a run in the third and another in the fifth, giving them a 2-0 win.

Pete Levitt (4-2) threw a complete game shutout for the Trojans, allowing no runs on six hits with six strikeouts, while Coker’s Matt Long (Florence, S.C.) (1-2) was slated with the loss. He allowed two runs on six hits with a pair of punch outs.

Jason Simone drove in both of the Trojans runs with a pair of RBI doubles, while Antonio Callaway scored both runs and had two hits.

Chad Nader (Rock Hill, S.C.) and Dyson Coker (Turbeville, S.C.) each had two hits for the Cobras.

The Cobras and the Trojans will wrap-up their three-game series with their third and final game on Sunday starting at 1:00 p.m.
