The Cobras were 2-1 over the weekend against Conference Carolinas foe St. Andrews winning 20-3 in game one and 5-3 in game three. Coker lost game two 8-2.

In game one, Sean Tracy (1-3) got his first win of the season going five innings allowing just three runs on five hits with five strikeouts. From there Dan Meyer, Chris Garcia and Matt Hodges combined to throw four scoreless innings with a combined eight punch outs.

At the plate, the Cobras exploded for 20 runs on 20 hits, including three long balls. Daniel Hiatt was the game’s leading hitter with a grand slam, three doubles, seven RBIs and four runs scored. Nick Fuoco also had a home run, a double and three RBIs, while Tyler Witzel had the Cobras third homer. Matt Ammons had three hits, including two doubles and scored three runs and Jonathan Gainey was a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI.

Game two saw Witzel (3-2) take the loss allowing six runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings on the hill, as St. Andrews used a five run fifth inning to secure the 8-2 win.

Ammons was the Cobras leading hitter in the game with a triple and two runs scored.

The third game of the series had to be cut short due to rain, but the Cobras managed to pull out the 5-3 win behind the pitching of Matt Long (1-1). Long went six innings allowing three runs on six hits with five strikeouts.

Jake Frazier was the Cobras leading hitter in the game with a two-run homer, a run scored and three RBIs. Hiatt and Witzel each had a pair of hits along with Chad Nader and Zach Barnes. Nader also drove in and scored a run for the Cobras.

The Cobras will hit the road for their next two games in Melbourne, Fla. against Florida Tech on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both games start at 2:00 p.m.
