Hartsville, SC- The Cobras Baseball completed their regular season with a victory over the Augusta State University Jaguars 4-3. Coker finishes the regular season with a record of 19-29, while the Jaguars are 24-21 overall.

 

Jesse Hatchell (4-2) earned the win coming on in relief, throwing two strong innings allowing one run on two hits. Mikael Owens (2) earned his second save of the season throwing a three up, three down ninth inning.

 

Ben Dukes took the loss for the Jaguars, allowing four runs on eight hits with five strike outs.

 

Leading the Cobras at the plate was Ryan Schaeffer going 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored, while Ty Medlin was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Brian Nally was 2-for-4 and Eric Losten was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

 

For Augusta State, Tim Rawlings was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, while Kevin Kelly was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

 

Coker will now travel to Wilson, NC, for the 2007 CVAC Baseball Tournament. The Cobras are the seventh seed and will face the second seed, Belmont Abbey, in their first game of the double elimination tournament Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
