In the first game,
With the sweep, the Trojans (22-26, 11-9) snapped a four-game losing streak and the Cobras' (17-26, 9-11) seven-game winning streak.
In the first game, Coker scored first with two runs in the third inning, but the Trojans answered with four runs in the bottom of the third to take a 4-2 lead. The big hit in the inning was a three-run homer by Jessie Whiteside.
The Trojans went on to add seven runs in the next three innings for an 11-4 lead.
Chris Pitts worked 7 1/3 innings scattering seven hits to earn the win for the Trojans in the first game. Brad Boob took the loss for the Cobras.
The Trojans were led offensively by Whiteside, who was 4-for-5 with seven RBI. Five other Trojans had two or more hits in the game.
Eric Losten led the Cobras with two hits in his three plate appearances.
In second game, the Trojans jumped out to a four-run lead after the third inning, but the Cobras battled back in the fourth with a two-run home run by Ben Davidson.
Tony Graham’s RBI single gave
Blair Carson led off the bottom of the sixth with a triple, and Ed Johnson drove
Brandon Sheriff threw 1 1/3 innings, including a scoreless top of the seventh to set the stage for Pitt’s game winner.
Matthew Conyers threw a complete game in the loss for the Cobras.
The Trojans were led offensively by Johnson, who was 3-for-3 with two RBI, and by Graham, who was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Ryan Schaeffer led the Cobras by going 4-for-4 with an RBI.
The two teams will play the third game of the series Saturday at 1 p.m.
