Hartsville, SC- The Coker Baseball Team extended their winning streak to seven games on Tuesday afternoon, as they defeated the Bluehose of Presbyterian College 9-4. The Cobras bats were on fire, as reached base safely 18 times, with five players collecting multiple hits, while three Coker pitchers held the Bluehose to just four runs and nine total hits. With the win Coker improves to 17-24 overall, while PC falls to 16-30 overall.

 

Kyle Strickland (2-3) earned his second win in the last two games, starting the game and going three scoreless innings, allowing just three hits, with two strike outs and a walk.

 

Zach Snipes (2-1) took the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits in three innings of work.

 

Leading hitters for Coker were Steven Evans, Eric Losten, Brian Johanson, Brian Nally and Julio Gomez. Evans was 4-for-5 with a run scored, while Losten was 3-for-5 with an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Johanson finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored, while Nally was also 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two stolen bases and Gomez was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.

 

For PC, Cory Lyda, Jesse Harmon and Bobby Holmes each had two hits, while Lyda had a double and an RBI and Holmes had a double.

 

Coker will take to the field again on Friday as they travel to Anderson for a CVAC double-header.
