Hartsville, SC- The Cobras Baseball Team won their second game of the weekend over Limestone College 4-2 on Sunday afternoon. With the win Coker, Coker also won the CVAC series, defeating the Saints two out of three games. The Cobras are now 12-24 overall, and 6-9 in the CVAC, while the Saints fall to 18-21 overall, and 5-9 in the CVAC.

 

Coker starter Jayson Clarke (3-6) held the Saints hitless through five innings and scoreless through six on his way to the win. He pitched seven innings, allowing just one run on five hits with eight strike outs.

 

Kyle Strickland (1) earned his first save of the season, throwing two innings of relief work, holding the Saints to just one run on one hit, with one strike out.

 

Ryan Maxa took the loss for Limestone, going 4 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on six hits.

 

Brian Nally led the Cobras at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored, while Ryan Schaeffer was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Brian Johanson was 2-for-2 a triple and a run scored and Seth Weinberg finished 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.

 

For Limestone, Paul Irby was 2-for-4 with a triple, while Daniel Lydon was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

 

Coker returns to the diamond o n Tuesday, as they host Georgia College and State University at 2:00 p.m. at Tom J. New Field.
