Hartsville, SC- The Coker Baseball Team won their second game in as many days with a 5-3 victory over non-conference foe West Virginia State on Sunday afternoon. Coker is now 10-21 on the season.

 

It was Ryan Schaeffer’s bases loaded two-out single that gave Coker a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth, and eventually gave them the win.

 

Brad Boob (1-5) earned his first win of the season in the outing, going eight strong innings, allowing just three runs on 11 hits, while Seth Weinberg (1) earned his first save of the year, shutting the door on the Yellow Jackets in the ninth.

 

Ben Davidson had a home run in the game and as a team the Cobras had 14 hits in the game.

 

Coker returns to the diamond on Tuesday, as they travel to UNC-Pembroke for a 5:00 p.m. game.
