Game one was full of late inning heroics, as Anderson’s Jonathan Pitts hit a two out bomb over the field wall in the top of the ninth to tie the game at eight. Luckily for Coker, they had some heroes of their own in the line-up. To lead-off the bottom of the ninth Steven Evans hit a single to the short stop and then advanced on a pass ball, next up was Brooks Urquhart who beat out bunt single and then Willie LoVerde got hit by a pitch to load the bases. That brought Brian Nally to the plate and he laced a 1-2 pitch into left center to score the winning run for the Cobras.
Steven Dill (3-5) earned the win coming on in relief, allowing one run on three hits, in two innings of work.
For Coker at the plate, Ben Davidson was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Nic Fletcher was 1-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored. Nally finished 1-for-5 with the game winning hit and RBI.
For the Trojans, Jonathan Pitts was 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Tony Graham was 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored.
