Columbia, SC- With two outs in the bottom of the tenth inning, the Benedict Tigers scored the game winning run to defeat Coker 5-4 in collegiate baseball on Wednesday evening. Coker now drops to 14-25-1 on the season.

 

Jesse Hatchell (1-3) took the loss for the Cobras, coming on for three and two-thirds innings of relief work, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out five.

 

For Coker offensively, Michael Shuford was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, while Ben Davidson was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Brantley Bell and Nic Fletcher each finished 1-for-3 with triples and Fletcher had an RBI and Bell scored two runs.

 

The Coker Baseball Team returns to the field on Saturday, as they host the CVAC leading Barton Bulldogs in a three game series. Game one of the double-header Saturday starts at noon, with the game Sunday starting at 1:00 p.m.
