Hartsville, SC- The Coker Baseball Team picked up a non-conference victory over Shaw University on Wednesday afternoon in collegiate baseball. The Cobras defeated the Bears 6-2 behind a solid pitching performance by Kyle Strickland and big hits from Seth Weinberg and Ben Davidson.

 

Strickland (1-0) earned the win throwing seven strong innings for the Cobras and only allowing two runs. Jesse Hatchell closed out the game for Coker throwing two innings of scoreless baseball.

 

Both Weinberg and Davidson were 2-for-4 on the day, each hitting a home run.

 

Coker improves to 14-20-1 on the year.

 

The Cobras take to the field on Saturday, as they travel to Pfeiffer University for a three game series. Game one starts at noon.
