Hartsville, SC- Coker’s CVAC woes continued as they dropped yet another conference contest to the visiting Erskine College Flying Fleet 12-1. Coker drops to 0-6 in the CVAC, and 7-9-1 overall, while Erskine improves to 15-2 overall and 2-0 in the CVAC.

 

Erskine scored two runs in the second, added four more runs in the fifth and sealed the victory with four more runs in the seventh and another two in the eighth.

 

Cobra starter Brad Boob (1-3) took the loss, giving up 10 runs, on 13 hits over seven innings, with four strike outs and a walk.

 

The Fleet’s Jon Merrell (4-0) earned the win, scattering five hits over nine innings, allowing only one run and striking out five.

 

Leading Coker’s hitting was Nic Fletcher, going 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Ben Davidson was 1-for-2.

 

Erskine was led by Robbie Knapp who went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Matt Schneider 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Juan Adriatico finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

 

Coker and Erskine return to action on Saturday, with a double-header starting at noon.
