Thomasville, N.C.> Brian Nally of Coker College (18-15 overall, 9-6 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) baseball Player of the Week.  Nally and the Cobras went a perfect 5-0 for the week, including a three-game sweep of Mt. Olive College. 

The sophomore hit .643 with a double, seven runs scored, seven RBI, and five stolen bases.  He also drew four walks and was hit by two pitches, boosting his on-base percentage to .750 for the week.  Nally had 24 chances at shortstop with 13 assists, 11 putouts, and helped turn six double plays.  On top of that, the Highland Heights, OH native pitched four scoreless innings against St. Augustine’s with four strikeouts to earn a pitching victory. 

In the weekend’s key series against Mt. Olive, Nally hit .667 with four RBI, five runs scored, and three stolen bases.  His on-base percentage was .750 and he was perfect in the field in 15 chances, turning four double plays.  Nally and the Cobras have won six straight games and hope to keep their streak going into April.
