HARTSVILLE, SC – Coker scored 12 runs and had 14 hits Tuesday afternoon but still lost 19-12 to Francis Marion in darkness-shortened eight inning game.  The Patriots improve to 10-5-1 on the season while CC drops to 8-9 overall.

FMU scored runs in every inning but the sixth and pounded the Cobras early with one run in the first, three in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth and three in the fifth.  Coker came back from a 13-2 deficit with four runs in the fifth and three in the sixth, but the Patriots added three more runs in the seventh and eighth to erase any thoughts of a comeback.

All nine pitchers who went to the mound today gave up at least one run and seventeen of eighteen starting field players had a hit.  The teams combined for 34 hits, 13 walks, four hit batsmen and eight errors in the three and a half hour game.

Conrad Deese went 2-4 with three RBI and two runs scored and Seth Weinberg was 2-3 with four RBI.  For FMU, Brian McFadden picked up four hits in six at-bats with one RBI and four runs scored.  Luke Ogletree went 3-4 with four RBI and two runs scored, and Omar Quiles had two RBI and scored three runs.

The two teams will meet up again tomorrow, March 2, at Francis Marion.  The game time has been changed from 7:30 PM to 4:30 PM to accommodate for the cold temperature and high winds.
