HARTSVILLE, SC – Coker cruised to a 20-3 non-conference victory over Voorhees Wednesday afternoon in collegiate baseball.  The Cobras drew 18 walks, were hit by five pitches, and had 11 hits in victory.

Coker walked five times and Conrad Deese took a pitch in the arm before the Tigers recorded the first out of the opening inning.  Coker scored six runs in the inning but only had two hits.  CC added four more in the second, two in the third and three in the fourth to take a commanding lead.

A two-out single by Leon Lang in the third inning helped Voorhees score three runs but that would be their only offense of the day.  Coker plated four more in the seventh and one in the eighth to complete the scoring.

T.J. Dawson finished the day going 2-3 with three RBI and Justin Sims went 1-2 with a walk, one run scored and three RBI.  Carlton Deese went 2-2 in two plate appearances and brother Conrad scored three runs and drove in two.

Freshman Brad Boob pitched two innings with no hits or runs allowed and Blake Miller went three innings with only one hit allowed and two strikeouts.

Coker travels to Erskine College now for a Friday-Saturday series against the hard-hitting Flying Fleet.  Friday’s game is scheduled for 2:00 PM with Saturday’s double-header set to begin at 12:00 PM.
