HARTSVILLE, SC — Coker lost third game of its three-game series against Limestone 6-0 on a rainy Sunday afternoon in collegiate baseball.  The Cobras are now 6-6 overall and 2-1 in the CVAC, while Limestone improves to 4-6 and 1-2 in the conference.

Limestone scored two runs in the second inning on a double by catcher David Wise.  Tyler Midgett drew a one-out walk and James Edwards singled before Wise stepped to the plate.  He hit a sharp grounder down the third base foul line to score Midgett and Edwards from first and second.

The Saints added another in the fourth on a ground out and put two more up in the sixth without the aid of a hit.  Richmond Lutz and Mitch House both drew walks and later came around to score on an error and a wild pitch.  Limestone added one more in the seventh to complete the scoring.

Starter Jason Gold was dominant on the mound for LC, pitching a complete game shutout with three hits allowed, only one walk and nine strikeouts.  Coker starter Seth Weinberg pitched five innings with four hits and four walks allowed, three wild pitches, and three earned runs allowed in the loss.

Senior Ben Kershnerwent 2-4 on the day and Conrad Deesewent 1-3 with a stolen base.  All nine batters in the Saint lineup had one hit but none of them got a second.

The Cobras will play Voorhees on Wednesday, February 23 at 1:00 PM.
