Koponen graduated from Coker in 2010 as the Cobra women's basketball program's all-time leading scorer netting 1,494 points in her career. A three-time All-Conference selection averaging 14 points and 5.6 rebounds per game during her career, Koponen continued her playing career in the Swedish women's professional league after graduation. During the summer of 2011 Koponen played for Finland's Women's National Team during their summer tour.

Currently, Koponen has returned to Finland to play for FoA in the Finish Women's professional league, as well as putting her Bachelor of Art Degree in Fine Art/Photogrpahy to work as a free lance photographer (Henna's Photography website).
