Andrea Manuel Hennessy

Coker Hall of Fame Inductee- February 6, 2016

Andrea Manuel Hennessy had an outstanding career on the volleyball court for the Cobras. She was a four-year member of the women’s volleyball team from 2002-06, and was a four-time team captain and was named team MVP all four years. She was a two-time All-Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC) performer in 2004 and 2005, and in 2005 she was a CVAC All-Tournament team selection.

Hennessy finished her collegiate career ranked No. 1 all-time at Coker in digs with 1,938 and in service aces with 233. She is also second all-time in kills with 1,513, fifth in blocks with 161 and she had a career hitting percentage of .205. Hennessy also holds the record for service aces in a season with 84 during the 2003-04 season. Also during the 2003-04 season, she finished the season ranked No. 17 in the nation in aces per set with 0.72 and No. 15 in the nation in digs per set with 5.02.

Off the court, Hennessy was equally amazing. She was a four-year member of the Coker Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as the vice president for two years, she was an Ambassador, and she helped plan the Coker Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraising efforts. She received the James F. Byrnes High School Booster Club Scholarship and was a Belle McCall Scholarship recipient.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Coker in 2006.
