Wrestling

  • This week’s matches:
    • Saturday-Sunday at NCAA National Championship in St. Louis, Mo.
  • Last week’s matches:
    • None
  • Travis Laxton will represent the Cobras at the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship in St. Louis, Mo. on March 14-15.  Laxton placed second in the 125-pound weight class at the NCAA Midwest Super Regional to qualify for the National Championship.

Men’s Basketball

  • This week’s games:

  • Last week’s games:
    • Carson-Newman (L) – 69-63
  • The Cobra men’s basketball season came to an end last week with a 69-63 loss to Carson-Newman in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals.

Men’s Volleyball

  • This week’s matches:
    • Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. (H) – King
    • Friday at 11:00 a.m. (A) – Charleston (W.V.)
    • Friday at 1:00 p.m. (A) – Belmont Abbey @ Charleston
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Holy Names (W) – 3-0
    • Sacred Heart (L) – 3-0
    • Marymount (W) – 3-1
    • Emmanuel (W) – 3-0 
  • The Cobras had a huge week as they picked up three wins at the Coker Invitational. They defeated Holy Names, Marymount and Emmanuel. This week, the Cobras will look to continue their winning ways when they host King on Wednesday and then travel to the Univ. of Charleston in West Virginia to face Charleston and Belmont Abbey.  

Men’s and Women’s Track & Field

  • This week’s meets:
    • Friday at Coast Carolina Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
  • Last week’s meets:
    • Palmetto Classic
  • Last week the men’s and women’s track & field teams had excellent showings at the Palmetto Classic. Noelia Leake earned the Cobras first-ever first place finish in the women’s 100-meter dash. In the men’s events Naim Fareed placed second in the 400-meter hurdles. This week the Cobras will once again hit the road to the Coast Carolina Invitational at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Baseball

  • This week’s games:
    • Monday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – Mercyhurst
    • Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. (H) - #6 UNC Pembroke
    • Friday at 6:00 p.m. (A) – Lenoir-Rhyne
    • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (A) – Lenoir-Rhyne (DH)
  • Last week’s games:
    • St. Andrews (W) – 5-1
    • Anderson – 19-6 (L), 13-8 (L), 3-2 (W)
  • The Cobras picked up two victories last week; including a 3-2 SAC win over Anderson. This week they will take on two non-conference opponents to begin the week; Mercyhurst and UNC Pembroke. Then they will hit the road to Lenoir-Rhyne at the end of the week.

Men’s and Women’s Tennis

  • This week’s matches:
    • Monday at 8:00 a.m. (A) – Florida Tech @ Hilton Head, S.C.
    • Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. (A) – Georgia College @ Hilton Head
    • Thursday at 11:45 a.m. (A) – West Liberty @ Hilton Head – women only
    • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – Lincoln Memorial
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Wright State – 8-1 (L) – women, 6-3 (L) – men
    • Davis & Elkins – 8-1 (W) – women, 6-3 (W) – men
  • The Coker tennis teams will continue their spring break trip in Hilton Head, S.C. this week. They will then return home on Saturday to play host to Lincoln Memorial in a pair of SAC matches.

Softball

  • This week’s games:
    • Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. (A) – Johnson C. Smith (DH)
    • Thursday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – Young Harris (DH)
    • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – Carson-Newman (DH)
  • Last week’s games:
    • West Virginia Tech – 1-0 (L), 10-2 (W)
    • North Greenville – 3-2 (L), 5-1 (W)
    • UNC Pembroke – 6-5 (L) – 8 innings, 5-3 (W)
    • St. Andrews – 8-0 (W) – 5 innings, 16-6 (W) – 5 innings
  • The Coker softball team went 5-3 last week, including a sweep of St. Andrews. This week they will travel to Johnson C. Smith and then return home to take on Young Harris and Carson-Newman.

Women’s Lacrosse

  • This week’s games:
    • Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. (A) – Rollins
    • Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. (A) – Florida Tech
    • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – Lenoir-Rhyne
  • Last week’s games:
    • Chowan (W) – 21-8
    • Lincoln Memorial (W) – 16-3
  • After a pair of blowout victories last week, the Cobras are 4-2 on the season. This week will be tough as they travel to Florida to take on Rollins and Florida Tech. They will then return home to take on Lenoir-Rhyne in a conference game.

Men’s Lacrosse

  • This week’s games:
    • Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. (A) – Lynn
    • Saturday at 3:00 p.m. (H) – Lenoir-Rhyne
  • Last week’s games:
    • Lincoln Memorial (W) – 18-9
  • The Coker men’s lacrosse team moved to 2-1 in SAC play with an 18-9 win over Lincoln Memorial last week. This week they will travel to Florida to take on Lynn University, then they will return to Hartsville to take on Lenoir-Rhyne.
