The "Cobra Spotlight" is a weekly highlight of a student-athlete at Coker College. Each week we take a different athlete from a different sport and display some facets to get more familiar with them. Women’s Soccer

  • This week’s matches:

  • Last week’s matches:
    • Brevard (L) – 3-1
  • The Cobra women’s soccer season came to an end last week with a 3-1 loss to Brevard.  

Men’s Soccer

  • This week’s matches:
    • Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. (A) – Wingate – SAC Men’s Soccer Championship- Quarterfinals
    • Saturday (A) – SAC Men’s Soccer Championship – Semifinals at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C.
    • Sunday (A) – SAC Men’s Soccer Championship – Final at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C.
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Brevard (W) – 3-2 -2OT
  • After a thrilling 3-2 double-overtime win against Brevard last week, the Cobras will head to Wingate University for the quarterfinals of the SAC Men’s Soccer Championship. The Cobras are the No. 8 seed and Wingate is the No. 1 seed. Coker tied Wingate 0-0 during the regular season.

Women’s Volleyball

  • This week’s matches:
    • Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Wingate
    • Friday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Tusculum
    • Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (A) – Mars Hill
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Pfeiffer (W) – 3-0
    • Carson-Newman (L) – 3-0
    • Lincoln Memorial (L) – 3-0
  • The Cobras picked up a 3-0 non-conference victory last week over Pfeiffer. This week they will hit the road for three SAC matches beginning at Wingate on Tuesday, followed by matches at Tusculum on Friday and at Mars Hill on Saturday.

Men’s & Women’s Cross Country

  • This week’s meet:
    • Saturday at SAC Cross Country Championships in Salisbury, N.C.
  • Last week’s meet:

  • The Coker College cross country teams will travel to Salisbury, N.C. this week for the South Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships.

Men’s Golf

  • This week’s tournament:

  • Last week’s tournament:
    • Matt Dyas Invitational – 9 of 14
  • The Coker College men's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule last week with a ninth place finish at the Matt Dyas Invitational. Will Bundy once again led the Cobras with a final round 71 (-1) on his way to a three-round score of 215 (-1). Bundy's finish put him in a tie for tenth on the individual leaderboard.

Wrestling

  • This week’s matches:
    • Saturday at Pembroke Classic in Pembroke, N.C.
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Citadel Open - NTS
  • Last week the Cobras opened their 2014-15 season at the Citadel Open. Four Cobra wrestlers placed in the top four of their respective weight classes to pace the Coker wrestling team. Leading the way for the Cobras was senior Travis Laxton at the 125-pound division. Laxton captured the tournament championship with four straight victories by decision. This week the Cobras will travel to UNC Pembroke for the 34th Annual Pembroke Classic. 

Women’s Basketball

    • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (A) – Vanderbilt
  • Last week’s games:
    • #2 South Carolina (L) – 100-25
  • After taking on nationally ranked No. 2 South Carolina last week, the Cobras will travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take on another SEC opponent, Vanderbilt University, on Saturday.

Men’s Basketball

  • This week’s games:
    • Saturday at 8:00 p.m. (A) – Campbell
  • Last week’s games:
    • None
  • This week the Cobra men will begin their 2014-15 season with an exhibition game at Campbell University. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. against the Camels.
