Cobra Spotlight
The "Cobra Spotlight" is a weekly highlight of a student-athlete at Coker College. Each week we take a different athlete from a different sport and display some facets to get more familiar with them. This week we take a look at women’s volleyball players; Celia Duggan and Madison BIngle. Click here for spotlights.
Women’s Soccer
- This week’s matches:
- Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. (A) – Newberry
- Saturday at 1:30 p.m. (H) – Tusculum – Senior Night/Hartsville Chamber of Commerce Night
- Last week’s matches:
- Chowan (W) – 1-0
- Carson-Newman (W) – 2-0
- The Cobra women stretched their winning streak to three after a pair of victories last week over Chowan (1-0) and Carson-Newman (2-0). This week they will take on two SAC opponents; Newberry on the road on Wednesday and Saturday at home against Tusculum. Saturday’s match will be the final home match of the season for the Cobras. The women will honor their five seniors; Lizz Morris, Trah Monroe, Cassie Callahan, April White and Erica Snyder during the match.
Men’s Soccer

- Saturday at 7:00 p.m. (H) – Tusculum – Senior Night/Hartsville Chamber of Commerce Night

- USC Aiken (L) – 3-2
- Carson-Newman (W) – 2-1
- Last week the Cobra men picked up a huge South Atlantic Conference victory over Carson-Newman. This week the men will travel to Newberry and then host Tusculum in their final home match of the season. The Cobras will honor their eight senior players; Fernando Bedoya, Jordan Snell, Chase Russell, Joel Bristol, Giouliano Andrade, Tony Quiroz, Matt Taylor and Juan Arreola during Saturday's match.
Women’s Volleyball

- Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Queens
- Friday at 7:00 p.m. (H) – Newberry – Dig Pink/Hartsville Chamber of Commerce Night
- Saturday at 12:00 p.m. (H) – Anderson
- Last week’s matches:
- Catawba (L) – 3-1
- Lenoir-Rhyne (L) – 3-0
- Brevard (W) – 3-0
- The women’s volleyball team defeated the Brevard Tornados in straight sets, 3-0, last week. This week the Cobras will travel to Queens on Tuesday. They will then return home to take on Newberry on Friday night in their Dig Pink match, and then the Cobras will play host to Anderson on Saturday.
Men’s & Women’s Cross Country

- Friday at Francis Marion Cross Country Invitational in Florence, S.C.
- Last week’s meet:
- None
- After a week off the Cobras will hit the road to Florence, S.C. to compete in the Francis Marion Cross Country Invitational. The races will take place at Freedom Florence Park with the women beginning at 4 p.m. followed by the men’s race at 4:40 p.m.

- Last week the Cobra women wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule with a ninth place finish at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. Freshman Angela Luna finished the event in 11th place to lead the way for the Cobras.
