Coker College Goalies Stack up Against Nation’s Best

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – A pair of Coker College goalkeepers are among the nation’s best at their position in Division II. Lizz Morris, the women’s goalie, is No. 2 in the nation in total saves. James Sweeney, the men’s keeper, is No. 31 in save percentage and goals against average.

Morris, a sophomore from Stillwater, N.Y., has 124 saves as of Oct. 14. She has six games of allowing one or zero goals in – including two shutouts – and holds an .855 save percentage.

A senior from Huntingtown, Md., Sweeney rocks a 0.83 goals against average and an .812 save percentage.

As of Oct. 16, the women’s team is in eighth place in Conference Carolinas, while the men’s squad is in second.
