HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker College men’s volleyball player Joao Victor Santos was voted the SPC Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Month for January 2017.

Santos was ranked fifth in NCAA Division I/II in kills per set throughout the month of January with 4.21 kills per set and third in points per set, averaging 5.11 points per set. The sophomore has collected 10-plus kills in four matches this season, leading the Navy and Gold to a 4-2 mark.

His season-high thus far of 19 kills came in a 3-1 road loss to No. 13 Penn State. Santos was also a finalist for the Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. National Player of the Month.
