Three Cobras Headed to NCAA Southeast Regional

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker Cross Country will be represented by Darroneshia Lott, Jacob Chebii and Luke Elliott at the NCAA Southeast Regional race on Saturday (Nov. 5).

Darroneshia Lott has had an outstanding year for the Cobras. The junior has finished inside the Top 20 in every race this season, and also placed in the Top 10 four times. She finished third in 21:13.09 at the Coastal Carolina Invitational on Sept. 9, and then finished sixth (23:15.84) at the Bulldog Stampede on Sept. 24. She won the race at the Great American XC Festival in 18:37 on Oct. 1, breaking the school record for a women's 5K race. The following week (Oct. 7) at the Royal Challenge, she shattered her own record, finishing 13th in 17:57.1. At the SAC Championships on Oct. 22, she finished seventh in 18:42.8.

Chebii notched one Top-20 finishes and two Top-10 finishes on the season. The sophomore finished fifth at the Coastal Carolina Invitational (Sept. 9) and then notched a sixth-place finish (27:50.66) at the Bulldog Stampede on Sept. 24. His Top 20 finish came at the Great American XC Festival on Oct. 1 where he finished 20th in 28:05.9.

Elliot has notched two Top-20 finishes and one Top-30 finish on the year. He finished 20th at the Palmetto State CC Festival (Sept. 3) in 18:50. Elliott then turned in a 15th-place finish at the Coastal Carolina Invitational (Sept. 9) in 18:45.36. He also finished 23rd at the Bulldog Stampede (Sept. 24) in 31:49.37.
